Morning Visitor

Look who was at our house this morning. We have four hummingbirds who come to our feeder regularly every day - three females and one male. This female came up to me before she went to the feeder and squeeked at me as if to say "what are you doing here???" They are so much fun to watch and are very territorial - they fight and try to keep the feeder to themselves. They will probably be leaving soon to head south - they usually stay until mid September so we'll enjoy them while they're here. Do any of you have hummingbirds?

Love the pictures! We also enjoy watching the hummers.. They can be wicked when one decides that other ones shouldn't be at the feeder. When we have been so very dry this summer they empty out feeders in a short time!

I know what you mean about the hummers being wicked - they jockey around each other with their "sword" bills and spar with each other. I fill my feeder about every two days - right now we're fighting honey bees even though we have bee guards on our feeders. They'll all be gone soon, though, since the cold weather will be here before we know it!!! We'll enjoy them while we can :o)
