Hi everyone -
Well, it's bound to happen - the first robin baby has left the nest. I looked out yesterday and there it was on the deck. A few minutes later, it flew down into the adjacent garden. Mama was going frantic since I was there with my camera - three babies are still in the nest but it won't be long before they leave, too. This is such a dangerous time for them once they leave the safety of their home and are out on their own - much like our own kids!! About an hourafter this little one was in the garden, we got a strong thunderstorm with hail - I was really worried about this baby - but today I can hear it begging for food, so it survived the storm and its first night -phew!!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend and keep smiling -

I do the same thing Judi,
I get so invested in the babies of all the wild life that I see daily. That is one way I got feeding the coons, possum, rabbits, birds and hummers. I don't have many hummers this year. I have see only 2. They are drinking plenty of sugar water tho. Maybe I have more then 2.
Thanks, Thank you for your visit, I love your company!!!

Don't you love watching them grow..leaving the nest is always the hardest part. I think that we may be feeling the pangs of empty nest syndrome here too very soon!

Hi Judi,
If you go through a hole feeder in a day you must have more then 2 birds. I have two and it takes 3 to four days to go through the feeder and I really don't fill it FULL. Almost.
It is hurting a little less now that it has been 2 weeks and 2 days since she left. I know that I gave her the best life she could have had! I think it was meant to be for use. I think that is why 3 families brought her back to the shelter and then I came alone!! Meant to be.
Love love your company. Happy Father's Day to your Hubby.
xx, Fern
