Happy Birthday to Me

Yes, today is my birthday and I'm a lucky, lucky girl. My husband, family and friends have all made my day so special!! Between cards, gifts, lunch, etc., etc., they all have made me feel so wonderful - thank you all. Here are some birthday flowers from my daughters, sons-in-law and grandsons that arrived today - so beautiful!!
This photo is sideways (can't figure out how to turn it) and the flowers are from Steph & Mike.
The beautiful "pumpkin" bouquet is from Laurie, Rich and my grandsons, Aaron & Colin.
See how lucky I am!!!

Hi All -
Yesterday friends Fran, Bonnie and I went to the great sale at the Sew'n Place here in Chambersburg. My hubby had given me a gift certificate so I didn't even spend any money!! How's that for doing good!! Anyway, here's what I purchased. I'm going to make another wall hanging for my bathroom. I saw some towels in the blue color that I really liked, and my bathroom has lots of brown, so I thought this would be pretty. The hanging I have now has lots of gold, black and bright stripes, so it just won't go. Good excuse to get more fabric, I'd say. The blue is kind of a dusky blue and my camera doesn't do it justice.

And here's what happens when you have a curious puppy trying to see what's going on.

No harm done, but I did have to "rescue" one piece of fabric from his quick little jaws!!!

My Boys

Here's a photo of my pups - Hamish & Duncan - they are what is keeping me really busy and unable to get into the sewing room with any regularity!!!

More Chunks

Hi All - I've finished chunks 16-18 - finally. I'm getting there - only 7 to go!!!

Busy, Busy

Hi All - Sorry I haven't posted for a few days but life is hectic here. I'd forgotten how much time puppies take - just one more responsibility every day. I must say, though, that they're worth it!! They are really doing well and are pretty much housebroken - just one accident yesterday and that was my fault - I wasn't paying attention. Thank goodness for my "Spot-Bot". We're walking twice a day and I've even dropped a couple of pounds - so life is good!! The pups love to go down to my sewing room and I'm almost finished with another "chunk" of my Celtic Knotwork - it will be done one of these days :o) I've got a few other projects on the back burner and now the Sew-n-Place is having a 30% off sale of all in-stock fabric, so guess I'll be adding more to my stash and will have a few more projects to do. Have a great day and keep smiling!!

Haggis is Homeward Bound

Our little third puppy, Haggis, has gone home to Pittsburgh this morning. His new "parents" came to pick him up and I was a little sad to see him go- - kind of brought tears to my eyes. He is such a cutie and reminded me so much of my Angus when he was a pup. Haggis has a big brother at his new home, Duff, and both met this morning with not too much upset. Duff was a little put off by a "baby" but soon got over that and was ready to play. My husband and I wish all the best to Haggis and his new family - I'm sure he'll enjoy his new home.

I was able to get down to the sewing room this afternoon with the company of Duncan and Hamish. They found a big pillow to snuggle down on and promptly took a nap. I completed one of my chunks for the Celtic Knotwork and started another - I should be able to finish it up (the chunk, that is) tomorrow and will post a photo.

Puppies, puppies, puppies

Hi All -

The puppies are here - we have three right now but one will be leaving on Sunday to go to his new home in Pittsburgh. They are really darlings but I'll be glad to be down to two. One forgets how active they are and THEY ARE INTO EVERYTHING!!! I really have to watch them. Maybe I'll be able to quilt one of these days when things settle down.

Haggis is the wheaton puppy who will be going to Pittsburgh. The two blacks are mine - Duncan and Hamish. Love the sleeping photos - we're aspiring to more of that - both for puppies and people!!!

Getting Ready

Hi all -

I haven't posted for a few days since I've been getting the house ready for the new puppies. I'm leaving on Tuesday with friend Bonnie for Asheville, NC, to pick them up and will be back home on Wednesday. I'm bringing an extra puppy back with me for some folks in Pittsburgh. They will come and get him on Sunday - it may be hard to let him go!!!

Anyway, thought I'd share a little of what I do when I'm waiting for appointments - I work on my Grandmother's Flower Garden blocks. They are a great "take-along" project and lots of fun. I'm making mine with yellow centers - the surrounding rounds are flowered fabric. These are an example of what they look like - the white will separate the blocks.

New Babies

My husband and I decided that we needed a couple of scottie babies to fill the void left by Kelsie and Murdock's passing over the past few months. These two scotties became available through Scottie Rescue in St. Louis, MO, and we couldn't resist. They are 4-1/2 month old little boys and will be named Hamish and Duncan. I'm going down to Asheville, NC, next Tuesday to pick them up as they will be transported by another fellow who is going out to St. Louis to get his adoptee and will be coming back to Asheville. I can hardly wait!!!
